NIILO EDWARDS, ICD.D
Chief Executive Officer
Niilo Edwards is the Chief Executive Officer of the First Nations Major Project Coalition. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the FNMPC Advisory Centre, the revenue generating arm of FNMPC.
At FNMPC, Niilo is responsible for operational strategy which includes business capacity services to First Nations on project portfolio worth over $45 billion in capital cost. His interests lie in business strategy, catalyzing business opportunity, and risk mitigation. His strengths include dealing with unique, complex, and challenging projects.
Niilo has spent the last 20 years working with organizations to advance Indigenous business capacity and participation in major project development. He has served as an advisor to national organizations including the First Nations Financial Management Board and the Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples in the Senate of Canada.
Niilo is a board member of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships and a board member for a First Nations-owned corporation. He is a holder of the Institute of Corporate Directors Director Designation (ICD.D). In 2024, he is listed as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Program for the Pacific Region.
Niilo is a kidney transplant recipient and an advocate for organ donation. He lives with a registered disability.
